Update on June 15, 2008:

Thought I'd give y'all an update on Boudreaux. He has now been with me for 4
days. I've been home sick the whole time so I've really gotten to see his
personality coming out. This is a terrific dog. I keep asking Judy if she is
sure he has always been an outside dog. He is such a gentleman. He is
definitely housebroken as he has had no accidents in the house. He does exactly
what my dogs do to tell me to let him out. He hits the door knob with his nose
and then looks at me to make sure I've heard him.

He shows no food aggression or toy aggression (including rawhides) with me. He
has shown very minor growling at my dogs with a new toy but nothing out of the
ordinary. He sits before getting his food at my command. To test him, I've
removed his half eaten bowl and asked him to sit and wait for it. He had no
problem repeating this exercise.

He does well on a leash. I've tried him just on a regular collar instead of a
training collar and he did not pull me.

I left him on his own for about 30 minutes today...no problem. He is going to
make someone very happy!

Boudreaux comes to us from southeast LA. His family is moving and cannot take
him with them. He has spent his life as an outside dog; although, so far, he
acts as if he has always been an indoor family pet. His previous owners stated
that he was not housebroken. He has spent about 18 hours in his new foster home
and has had no accidents in the house nor has he shown signs of not being
housebroken. When let out to do his “business“, he gently scratches on the door
to come back in. Last night he brought us his leash and seemed to want a walk.

Boudreaux is a handsome, deep red boy. In photos the flash captures the golden
highlights and he appears a lighter red than reality. His coat is very thick and
full. He must have been incredibly hot living outdoors. He is a bit overweight.
He only weights 80.5 lbs but you cannot feel his ribs at all.

Boudreaux gets along well with other dogs. He was a bit skittish when he first
met my dogs but when walked together he accepted them quickly. They are not yet
playing together but a laying around together with no problems. He was raised
with cats and another dog.

Boo spent his first night with us in a crate. He did fine. He had more of an
issue with the stairs than with the crate. He apparently has never used stairs
before and was confused by them. Going up was easier than coming down but he
tackled them.

He is such a nice dog. I look forward to the day he finds a happy home to spend
his life in. He deserves the best! If you are looking for a “love sponge” to
come into your family and have been approved to adopt, please contact his foster
family through GSGRR.
