Eight-year-old Zephyr (the larger male) and
seven-year-old Shelby (the smaller female) are a bonded pair
who have led a very healthy, happy life until recently. A few
months ago, the goldens’ primary caretaker, their mom,
died. Now that their primary caretaker has passed away, her
husband is frequently out-of-town on business trips and other
time constraints have led their owner to consider adopting the
much-loved pets to one family who meets GSGRR adoptive home
criteria. They must be adopted in a loving home suitable for
both goldens'. These are such good dogs that they deserve to
be placed in a loving home that can give them all the loving
care and attention that they so deserve.
Both dogs are heartworm negative, up-to-date
on their shots and playful enough to chase balls and to take
off on invigorating walks. These indoor dogs are well behaved;
they stay off the furniture (and countertops), are housebroken
and crate trained. Shelby does exhibit some storm phobia, especially
when it thunders, which is controlled with medication and crating.
When the radio or TV is turned on, this decreases her phobia
a lot. Both dogs are comfortable being crated inside during
the work day provided they are allowed to go outside around
lunch time. They are inseparable, and even being away from each
other for a short period of time stresses them out. You won't
find another pair of dogs that get along with each other as
well as they do.
Both Shelby and Zephyr can sit and shake on
command. They will at any moment roll over to get their bellies
rubbed. Zephyr has a favorite blue squeak ball that he will
fetch for as long as you can take it. Shelby is a snuggle bunny
that can be quite demanding with the treats. One thing she is
famous for is once she goes outside and does her business, she
runs inside as quickly as she can and knows exactly where the
treat container is and barks until she gets what she wants.
She gets you trained really well. Zephyr too loves his treats
but is not quite as demanding as Shelby is. They don't need
much, just a loving home, someone to care for them, someone
to give them the attention they deserve and for someone spoil
them rotten. They are perfectly happy just sitting on the floor
by your feet while you watch TV or read a book.
Because the family cares so deeply for Shelby
and Zephyr, they will be working alongside GSGRR to make sure
this lovable pair is placed together in their forever home.
