Cowboy attended the First Annual Spring Picnic of GSGRR in Bay St. Louis Mississippi on Saturday April 9th. He went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico/Mississippi River and had fun all day long with 14 other goldens. Here are some recent photos.
Cowboy had his first public outing since his "wheels" arrived this past week. He attended the Paws on Parade in Waveland, Mississippi with members of GSGRR, rusty, momma and daddy, of course. He received special mention in a competition for costumes.
Cowboy is all tired out from his adventure on Saturday. He is resting on Easter Sunday.
COWBOYS WHEELS ARRIVED TONITE!!
Cowboy visited LSU Vet School again this week and had the MRI. The results of the MRI are suggestive of cerebellar hypoplasia or in other words, a functional developmental abnormality associated with his cerebellum. That is the part of the brain is largely responsible for coordination of movement. This is why his gait is wobbly and his head shakes. GOOD NEWS-The doctors say that he will NOT get worse and that some dogs are able to compensate and accomodate with time and exercise. We are relieved to get these results and disappointed that it isn't something that can be fixed or treated. Cowboy continues to be happy and lively boy and was VERY happy to see momma carol. We have created a second page for older updates on Cowboy. Click on the link below
