Becky
Miss Becky passed away in May 2008. She was well
loved in her final months of life. Peace to Miss Becky.

Miss Becky
(???? – 2008)
The lovely Princess Becky came into GSGRR in late February through
a shelter in the New Orleans area from a sketchy background
like many of our rescued Goldens. She graced our presence with
her elegance and charm despite her physical ailments. Through
the photos, her unwavering love and trust for the world as she
saw it, shows brilliantly. She was fostered for a month in a
home with 6 other family dogs during which a special family
came to visit her and asked to be her forever home. When their
new home was completed, Becky went to live with them. She was
cherished and loved by the children and adults. In a very short
time, her physical ailments worsened and she bravely held on
with the grace she always had. Despite efforts of the veterinarians
and loving care from her family, she became too weak to go on.
With selfless compassion for Princess Becky, the family reluctantly
and tearfully decided to let her go. As daughter Bonnie says,
“Becky is in Doggy Heaven, feeling no pain and she's chasing
after a bouncing ball”. Jen said, “It was like we
had a member of our family, whom we had known for a long time,
leave us. I couldn't believe how attached we were after just
a few weeks. We miss her very much”.
This special family proved to Becky that there is a place in
the world for all dogs even if it takes a lifetime of patient
waiting. On behalf of GSGRR, we thank you for caring for, and
loving The Princess Becky.

Becky went to her forever home
on March 26, 2008 and will be living in LA. She jumped right
in the car and sat on the new blanket and took her old tennis
ball with her. She is one lucky girl.

Anyone who has known a dignified senior Golden
will understand Miss Becky. She is a Grand Dame despite her
evident hard life. The look of elegance and grace emanates from
her whether she is asleep or awake. When she sees you, her tail
wags with joy fully expecting the love she deserves. She returns
it unconditionally. Her foster home consists of six dogs including
the Catahoula Princess, Stormee, who rules the pack with a sharp
look or curl of the lip. Stormee recognizes and respects Miss
Becky which is the biggest complement of all.
Miss Becky is only for the special person or
family who can appreciate her graceful presence. She is content
to be near you without being pushy. Because of her age, she
does not require a lot of exercise. She looks like she had a
litter of puppies recently but there is no information about
them. She had lost some weight and is being treated for an ear
infection. If you would like to share your home with her, please
fill out an application.
