Belle, NOW ANGEL, in CT

\

Belle, now Angel, and her canine sister, guardian

Belle went to her forever home in Connecticut on December 11, 2006.

Update from her new family:

Angel, was Belle, is a very happy girl. She has filled out nicely but I am to careful not to over feed her as I would never want to restrict her from the food and treats she enjoys so much.

She and Guardian are truly happy campers together. They seem to work out their own routines without my intervention. Such as Guardian getting dibbs on my lap but has given over sleeping closest to me on the bed. I actually think Angel feels very secure with Guardian around, as if she knows "GUARDIAN" is more than just a name. On Guardians part Angel really is a blessing. She doesn't fret when I leave for work anymore and she has a friend to romp with. When Angel first came to us I was amazed to see that she didn't know what play was, such as fetch or tug of war. But she is learning and breaking out of her shell. Now they play with the tug rope where they each grab an end and Angel flops on her belly while Guardian drags her around the living room. Also I couldn't figure out how my sofa kept being moved a foot down the wall ?!!! Well I found out when I awoke from a nap in my recliner to see they hold races!!! Starting at each end they just race back and forth bypassing each other!

They're really happy Jeanne. And so am I. Thank you.
Sincerely, Kathy

Patches and Belle came to us, from a residence in Arkansas that had 31 horses and 30 dogs. We refer to folks like these as "hoarders".

Animal Control confiscated all of them, because several were thin and needed Vet Care. Luckily, all were Heartworm negative, except one. They were all given their shots and spayed/neutered. Patches and Belle arrived at Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue, Sunday night, and they are wonderful dogs. Most of the doggies are heading to loving homes or Rescues.

Update from her foster mom:

Update on Belle: Belle does a really cute trick. She will stand on her hind legs and literally walk backwards for at least 8 to 9 FEET before stopping. It is precious. She could go on Pet Star! If you are interested in a dog that is full of life, please consider Belle for Adoption.

Belle is about 2 years old, spayed, and on Heartworm Prevention. She is a Golden/Australian Shepherd Mix. She weighs about 45 pounds, but she is not thin. Her build is like a Golden, and she definitely has the personality of a Golden but her markings are of a Blue Merle Aussie.

She is very playful, and loves the other dogs. She is eating well, and is fitting right in to our “Pack”. We will be crate training her, and making sure that she is house trained. After what this little girl went through, don’t you think that she deserves a loving family, and a warm home to live her life at? Please take a long hard look at that beautiful face, and you will see that she is the one for you!
