Brittany now Sadie
Brittany went to her forever home in Norco, LA and is having a grand olde time. Update in May 2007: Hey Judy, Sadie is doing great. It's hard to believe she has been with us for 6 months already. It seems she has been with us so much longer. She is such a sweet girl. I get told quite often how pretty she is. With the weather getting warmer in the evening I've had to shorten our walk a little because she will just sit down on me and not want to move. She will tend to want to sightsee and visit more than walk. She is wonderful otherwise. Christina Update on January 13, 2007: Hi Judy, Sadie is doing great. She has that perpetual happy face all the time. She has settled in so well its hard to believe she has only been with us a little over 2 months. She had a great time at Christmas. She didn't know which new toy to play with or what snack to eat first. She actually had a couple of things in her mouth a one time. Her hair is growing back from her spaying and she is looking great. She weighed 70 pounds back in the middle of November. I am sure she has gained a few more. She has bonded with our dachshund (Max) who was also a rescue. They are always together. She is terrific on a leash now and can almost walk herself. She listens so well and never wanders away from us even when she is in the front yard with us without her leash She gets along with every one she meets. One nite while walking her and Max, someone had just gotten out of their car and remarked on how pretty she was. She proceed to jump up on him for some loving. He joked and said she's not much of a guard dog. I said no, but the little one is, she's just backup. She truly does not know a stranger. We had a house full on a couple of occasions during the holiday season and she greeted everyone with that happy look. We have a number of new great nieces and nephews. She was very good with them. She even was laying by our 4 month old grandson wanting to be a part of the attention. Max loves to curl between her legs when she is laying down. He get cold easily. They are so funny to watch when they play and she knows what the word gentle means. Sometimes she gets a little to excited and throws those huge paws towards Max. He has gotten really good at dodging them. He gets up on the ottoman to get on eye level to play with her sometimes. On one of our get togethers my nephew had just returned from hunting and had his black lab with him and asked if he could let her out to potty. I told him to put her in the back yard and I would just shut the doggie dog. Once she had settled in, I went out with Sadie. After there initial sniffs of each other they began to run and play. My nephews dog is very well trained for hunting, Sadie is a pet. He was throwing balls for them but making his sit and stay until the command to fetch was given. Well, Sadie would just run to get it. May, the lab, would chase her and she was having a ball being chased. I think she dropped the ball a couple of times because she was smiling so big. She really enjoyed her new friend. Sadie loves her bath every week and even now gets in the tub by herself. She is doing so well and we all love her very much. I have a friend who is thinking of getting a golden, but she has to older little dogs. She has visited your web site a few times. She is waiting for the right time, She knows how happy we are with Sadie and I think when the time comes she will be visiting you web site again to adopt. I am going to send a couple of new pictures but I will need to send them separately. Christina and Sadie Hey Judy, Christina Brittany is 18 months old and was left for almost a year at a neighbor’s house. She is a blonde/tan golden. Her original owner left her there in hopes of coming back to get her, but he never came back. She is homeless now and needing a good home. She will be vetted soon so please check back for more updates as we get to know her. With much love and direction, Brittany will make a fine pet to someone in the future. |
