Buddy
Buddy went to his forever home in Louisiana on October 14th. Update from his mom on March 8th: Hi Judy,
One picture is from Christmas, when he met his "grandparents" for the first time... it was love at first sight! The other picture is from the "Dogutante Ball" which is a fundraiser for the Capital Area Animal Welfare Society which was held a few weeks ago. The dogs are "presented" and walked down the runway while their bio is read. You'll notice that Buddy has a stuffed bird in his mouth... that dog isn't happy unless he's carrying around some kind of stuffed animal in his mouth... most of them don't last too long! Just wanted to bring you guys up to date on my Buddy.... he's the
best! BRING IT ON “BUDDY”: “Buddy” is a brave Hurricane Katrina survivor who like so many people and animals is simply trying to create a new life in the aftermath of such a devastating storm. Katrina’s fury may have destroyed Buddy’s original owner’s home with high floodwaters, yet these kind folks have entrusted their beloved Golden into our care. They love Buddy enough to know he needs a routine and consistency amidst the chaos. GSGRR will work hard to help Buddy find the comfort and stability he so desperately deserves having lost so much like countless victims of this natural disaster. What Katrina could not take away is the beautiful spirit of this three-year old, neutered male. Buddy’s capacity to love has not been diminished, yet he is in need of special attention and a second chance. Boarded for the storm by his original owners, Buddy had to be evacuated from that clinic to Lamar-Dixon in Baton Rouge for safety and was eventually returned to the Vet where he was surrendered. The medical records obtained from this Veterinarian indicate that Buddy has had several idiopathic seizures but is on no medication. Additional tests will be run by his foster family and updates posted on this site. **Please don’t hesitate to make queries about this gorgeous creature in the meantime. Faithful and obedient, Buddy needs a home, likewise his original owner, who never would have surrendered her magnificent and beloved dog otherwise. She needs to know Buddy has a home with a loving family. Can you help them? Loving eyes and a wagging tail, his eagerness is clearly depicted in his web photos. Those long tufts of hair so elegantly shape his strong body, making him appear confident and regal despite all that he’s lost. |
