Caddo now Sam

CAddo went to his forever home in April 2007.

Caddo, the male, 5 to 6 year old Golden that I just rescued last week from the Caddo Parish Animal Control Shelter up in Shreveport, has gone on to live in Covington with a terrific woman and her 2 Maine Coon Cats ( also rescues ) ! Caddo was found as a stray and is going to need some groceries to reach his ideal weight, but he is a fantastic dog and although Heatworm positive, his new Mom is willing to continue his treatment and will then put him on a monthly dose of heartworm preventative ! What a wonderful ending for a Golden that deserves the very best and it sure helped to brightened my day !

Hi Jan,

At long last here is a picture of Sam. He is doing very well and is beginning to figure out that I'm his Mom and this is his home. Two of the three cats still don't like him (especially when he finds their food and eats it) but the youngest one has decided he's mostly okay. :) Sam has met my friends dogs too and has been a big hit with everyone. He learned his new name overnight so he's obviously very intelligent. And for me personally he has been a big shot in the arm mentally. There's something about waking up to those beautiful brown eyes every morning that just makes me happy. :)
