Cooper, now Chopper, in LA

Update from his momma in June 2009:

Just wanted to give a testimonial on heart worm prevention; if you recall when we adopted Chopper a couple of years ago he was positive for heart worms. A couple of months ago we brought the boy in for his annual check up and he is heart worm free and never had any treatments; just monthly prevention.

Another note, we determined he is allergic to fleas; he has been chewing himself raw every summer no matter what we used. We were introduced to a new flea preventative called Comfortis. This is a tablet that they take once a month; the difference is the flea dies on the first bite whereas the others allow the flea to live an hour or so and still biting. Chopper is flea and heartworm free!!!!

Update from his momma in December 2008:

Hi Judy, sorry it took over 2 years to send you some pictures of our “Good” child (he is by far the best of the now 7 between us 6 2-legged and 1 4-legged). Chopper still loves shagging his Frisbees, prancing through the house with one in his mouth almost always. Another favorite thing is chasing reflections or light from a flash light; in fact if he sees a flashlight he’ll get it and put it on your lap or drop it at your feet so you can shine it on the ground. Judy this boy is so well behaved; I built a small goldfish pond (8’ across) in the yard for Cindy’s fountain a year and a half ago, he goes out every morning to help Cindy feed the fish and has never even so much as taken a drink out of it. I amazed at how he understands what’s his and what’s not without ever scolding. Chopper has also become the favorite of the neighborhood as he spends hours on hours outside with me doing the yard, working on cars, etc.; he greets all slow and gentle and of course with his beauty and gentle manner everyone falls in love with him immediately. Not to mention he catches everyones eye that happens to be passing by as he charges out in the morning to retrieve our newspaper; all we do is wait at the door.Great on the cooler mornings.

Oh, I almost forgot; I have 2 boys next door 10 and 14; they knock on the door and ask “can Chopper come out and play with us?” Even the kids don’t know he’s a dog, so how’s he supposed to know?

Copper went to his forever home in LA on February 3, 2007.

Copper is a five year old male that needs a new home due to Katrina. His family lost everything including their house and are unable to keep him.
He is a wonderful dog and will make someone a great pet.
