Jake 3
Jake went to his forever home in March 2009 Name: Jake 3 Jake was taken in by a kind family in Livingston, LA, after being found wandering. They tried without success to locate his owners, and finally turned to GSGRR to find Jake the right home. While Jake is relatively young, he is more mature and independent than many younger males. He also has had some training. When a person puts out a hand to pet him, Jake immediately sits down. While being petted, he will lean against the person. He has not jumped on people or furniture, destroyed or chewed anything, barked excessively, or had any accidents in the house. He has not tried to steal food either! Some goldens have a need to be right beside their human family. Jake enjoys our company, but also enjoys lying in the sun or exploring our fenced yard. Jake has been very good with other dogs, and enjoys playing with them for a while, but not all the time. Jake is a strong walker, and needs to be trained to walk on a loose leash. Jake’s one and only problem is that he “follows his nose”. He will not reliably come back when called. He doesn’t rush out the door every time it is opened, but he has gone out 3 times when we did not watch closely enough and not responded to our commands to come back. Jake then put his nose to the ground and trotted away until something interesting came up, and he stopped to investigate. At that point we have leashed him and he returns to the house with us. He loves attention and soaks up every once of love he gets. He would
probably be good with children because of his calm nature and good
manners. If you are approved to adopt, please contact GSGRR about Jake.
We will honestly answer all questions to determine if Jake is the dog
for you!
