Juliet

Juliet went to her forever
home in New Orleans in February 2007.
Update from her new momma:
as of october 2008:
Hi Judy: I just wanted to share some good news with you. We took
Juliette for her annual checkup a couple of weeks ago, and wonder of
wonders, she came up heart worm NEGATIVE.
We've had her since January of 07 and had her on HeartGuard since.
I figured you would like to pass the info on to others. It really does
work. The first vet we saw wanted us to do the Arsenic treatment, but
we felt that was too hard on the dog. She has a clean bill of health,
except I've been feeding her too much. She weighed 53 pounds when we
got her, and she was up to 73 pounds.
Needless to say, she's on a diet. I've found it difficult to find out
how many calories are in the various foods. I was able to get in touch
with Nutrapro. They said their lamb and rice dry formula has 342 calories
in a cup. On line I found a site that says a dog between 60 and 75
pounds should have 1200 to 1500 calories a day. I'm trying. This is
worse then putting myself on a diet. Attached is a picture of Juliette
taken about 6 months ago. She's such
a sweetheart, but still hates cats. Do you have any ideas about how
we
can train the problem out of her. Herbert has to walk her because she
has pulled me off my legs a couple of times and a couple of others
gotten away from me. She always comes right back because the food is
there.
Take care,
Johanna, Herbert & Juliette
Hi Judy: Happy New Year, etc. We thought you would
like an update on
Juliette. She's been with us a year come February and she is a doll.
The heart worms are still positive, but the vet agreed with us to just
continue with the heart worm medicine. She is well behaved except for
cats, anysize, any place, she goes nuts. Do you have any suggestions
for calming her in that department?
The vet told us that the Goldens are prone to having ear problems.
He sold
me some expensive spray. I started thinking about my days in the health
food store, and decided to give her a capsule of acidophilus in her
food
everyday. It took two days to clear her ears. I have continued the
treatment for the past four months with no more problems.
Hope all is going well with you and your furry family.
God Bless,
Johanna
My name is Juliet. I am 3 years old and was found running
loose on the highway. I am up to date on my shots, spayed and ready
to go. I am heartworm positive but have been started on preventative
and will be fine. I love other dogs and really love people.
