Katie 08
update in feb 2012-Hi Alicia,
She truly is precious, sweet, gentle, loving, adorable and I could go on and on and on. We just love her. We also have a male golden who will be ten this year (Yogi) and we rescued a yellow lab about a year ago (Lucy). They all get along fabulously!!! I will upload some photos at a later date. I am also going to show this email to my husband so that he can give his comments. It was the best thing we ever did!! I cant imagine my life without her.
Hope all is well with you and you continue your efforts in placing these wonderful pets in loving homes. We thank you for finding us Katie!!! (and we couldnt rename her)
Sincerely,
Linda Y

Katie went to her forever
home in Boca Raton FL on May 2, 2008.
Name: Katie

Gender: Female

Heart worm Status: Negative 4/25/08
Date of Intake:4/23/08 owner surrender
Katie is a large (84 lbs) gold female with AKC papers. She was surrendered
by her owners who were moving and could not keep her any longer. Katie
is adjusting to her new surroundings quite well. She is housebroken,
knows basic commands, walks well on the leash, and rides well in the
car.
Amazingly she does not show the normal
puppy problems-counter surfing, getting on furniture or chewing and
is well mannered at mealtime with no begging. She is a bit timid when
introduced to new situations-getting into the car and getting on the
scale at the vet's office to name a few. We are working on crate training
but at this point no amount of coaxing gets her to go in. (She had
the run of the house with her former owners.) Katie loves to go for
walks, getting bathed and getting brushed and any and all affection
you might care to give her. She enjoys chasing tennis balls or any
other toy you might toss. Exercise and a more controlled diet will
help her to shed some of her excess weight (she is a large female but
does need to shed a few pounds)
After just a few days with Katie she seems to be a sweet dog without
any major behavioral issues and most deserving of a forever home
where she will receive all the love and affection she deserves.
