Matthew now Harley

Matthew went to his forever home on February 17, 2008.
tony emailed us and matthew- now Harley
- is doing well.
Matthew was adopted by Tony of Pensacola, FL and will also have a 4
year old boy to play with him. Thanks to Cheryl High (sister of the
director of the Humane Society of South Mississippi) for getting
him directly into our program so we could find him a good home. Thanks
to Mickey Tener who did the application and gave Tony high praise
as a wonderful person to care for Matthew. Tony drove the 2 hour
and 20 minute drive to meet Matthew with the big storms we had today.
Matthew was the perfect dog when Tony arrived, didn't jump up, was
great with the young children. He even jumped right into his new
crate. Best wishes to the new families!
Here is Matthew:
In late January 2008, Matthew wandered the streets of Gulfport and
adopted a family with two dogs living in a FEMA trailer next to their
house that they are renovating. He is around one year old, gorgeous
form and super personality. The family could not find his owner or
keep him so he is now in GSGRR foster care. Although slightly HW+,
and a case of hookworms being treated, he appears to be in excellent
health. The vet said he has the heartbeat of a long-distance runner
and Heartguard should clear up the HW's in a few months. He is smart,
attentitive and willing to learn anything. He loves to be with people
and other dogs. He can get out of a fenced yard that has a way to go
under or jump a low fence but he does not run off. He will be neutered
on Feb 4th. He is thin at 68# and should fill out nicely.
He loves to run and play. He is friendly and needs a little manner-training
(likes to jump up a little) but is mostly a calm dog. He is crate trained
and housebroken.
