Miranda now Bella
Miranda went to her forever home in the Upper West Side in NYC on August 25th, 2007. Update in August 2009:
Update from her momma on September 8, 2007: Hi Jim,
Wanted to let you know how Miranda/Bella is doing. We just had an amazing weekend in Bridge Hampton. A friend of mine invited us out to her beautiful home with a great big yard. Bella had the best time running through the grass, playing with the dogs next door, bunny hunting (thank God she didn't catch one) and playing in the yard. She was tentative around the pool, realized something was up there and always managed to walk around it. She didn't have an interest in swimming, so I didn't force her. Maybe next time. She made herself right at home, lounging on the sofa, sleeping in the bed....pretty much living the life. Lots of belly rubs (you know they are her favorite). And she was the hit of the Hamptons, just like she's the hit of NYC. I also took her to the vet and discussed her HW situation. She was x-rayed and her heart and lungs look good. I am to receive the results of her HW test today. Other than that she is in great health. Thanks to your wonderful care. Now we're back in the city and she's seems to know this is her home. She welcomes her dog walker Lena, every afternoon and they have a great time in the park. So everything is just great. Except, maybe my job, because it seems, I'd much prefer to play in the park with Bella than come to work. Oh well, at least she gives me something to look forward to at the end of my work day. Bella is just a dream!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Oh, I'm sending you pictures from the weekend as soon as my friend sends them to me.
Hope all is well with you, Carol and all your other four legged friends!
All the best,
Beth and Bella (aka Miranda) Hi Jim, She is a gem! She bonded with me immediately. We sat in the grass at the airport for a while and she crawled all over me. So friendly. She loved my brother too, but I think she understands that I'm hers. She walked pretty well on the leash, barked ( a deep bark ) at 3 different dogs on the street, Woo Woo'd me around the apartment, Woo Woo'd at herself in the full length mirror. I hope I'm not speaking too soon, but she sure seems to be house trained. She waits until we get to the grass before she relieves herself. And is so well behaved in the apartment. She's pulled out toys from the toy box and is happy playing with them. She hasn't tried to eat a shoe or a purse or anything that she shouldn't. I left her crate open, but she hasn't gone back into it at all. She seems 100% at home here with me. We were a total hit at the park and on the street. Everybody wants to say hello and find out about her. It's really fun! She's charmed most of the Upper West Side of New York today! She was breathing very heavy and seemed to cough (only once). I was a little concerned about her, but it was a very hot humid day. Maybe one of our walks was too long. She seems fine now. She fell asleep at 9:30 Eastern time (8:30) your time almost to the minute. Let's hope she's not Woo Wooing at 4:30 am! :-) She didn't eat much tonight, but I attribute that to a big day. We'll try again tomorrow and then get the chicken broth. Thanks again for everything. I love her dearly and think she is already very happy here. I promise you, I will treat her like gold. Thank you so much JIm. You've made my dream come true! Beth My name is Miranda. You may ask what I am doing here on this page with all these Golden Retrievers. Well believe it or not I am Golden Retriever/Basset Hound Mix. When I came to GSGRR had a real long coat but they had just taken my puppies away from me. My coat is growing back and it will come back beautiful. In my face I look like a GR but my body is that of a Bassett. I even WOO WOO like a Bassett. I get along well with the other dogs although I am a little bossy. If you want a pint sized Golden I am your gal. |
