Nick- adopted on april 3, 2011
From Sydney, our youngest volunteer--I am proud to say that my second foster dog, Nick, went to his forever home Sunday. Jamie and her Labrador retriever Mocha adopted him. I will miss him very much too! He was such a funny dog! My mom and I heard from Nicks new owner today by email. She said Nick is extremely well mannered and it is obvious he was so loved and cared for by us. Jami also stated he is very fond of her shower and has found him in there twice! I can't wait to who we get to foster next! February 20, 2011 - Nick is doing well. He starts his third week of rehab tomorrow.
We have taken in some donations toward his surgery however we are still about $1500 short of covering the cost of the surgery and rehab necessary to get him strong and walking correctly.
Any donation large or small is very welcome.
January 29, 2011- Nick is home and doing well. He doesn't like the collar as he says it is too girlie for him.
January 26, 2011: Nick's hip surgery was today. The doc checked out his x-rays and said the FHO was the best fix for him. Nick is doing real well. Dr. Bob called right at 9 pm to let me know all went well. He worked late to get the surgery done. He should be home Friday to recoup. Rehab should start in about a week.

Nick just had both hips repaired.
He is now in rehab.
He will be looking for a forever home real soon.
Nick is a 1.5 yr old neutered male,UTD on vaccinations, and HW negative. Nick was an owner turn-in to GS.
Nick has bad hips as per x-rays taken last week.
He has an appointment on Wed. Jan. 26th to have the x- rays viewed by the surgeon to get his recommendation. If the surgeon feels he's a good candidate for FHO surgery(Femoral Head Osteotomy) it can be done the same day. I'll send an update on 1/26.
