Paris

Paris update: Paris pased away
the week of july 7th 2008 and will be greatly missed.
A
Tribute to Paris
Paris was rescued from a neglectful situation in August of 2007.
Essentially that is when her good life began. She was a young
golden who left us too soon. As her foster mom I was able to
see this little dog blossom into a wonderful, loving animal.
She had a lot to learn about being an inside dog as well as
a dog who was going to be loved and cared for. She was definitely
up to the challenge and she showed her gratitude in so many
ways. Just when I thought she would be with me forever we got
an early Christmas present when in December of 2007 she found
what would be her forever home. Tim, Dawn, Christine and adopted
Golden Mickey saw what I saw in this little dog and gave her
the best life she had probably ever had. Paris died suddenly
in July of 2008 probably as a result of heartworm disease. When
I got the call from Tim I was shocked beyond belief. We are
all overwhelmed with saddness at her passing. I know I will
never forget her and I will be eternally grateful that her adoptive
family gave her so much love and care for the much too brief
time that they had her. She will be forever missed.
I just got off the phone and learned
that the family who has had Paris
for a trial run has decided to adopt her. She will be living
with a
family in New Orleans who also have Mickey, a golden they adopted
from
Old Gold. It has been touch and go during the adjustment period
but
things are now going smoothly. I could not be happier for this
most
deserving little girl. Way to go Paris!
This is Paris. She is a small,
dark gold female between 2 and 4 years old. Paris has had a
miserable life to this point. To say she has not been well cared
for is an understatement. She was basically kept as a lawn decoration
by her previous owner, living her life chained up in the back
yard. She was rescued from her home in Florida and brought into
our program.
Paris is being treated for a skin
infection which has produced lesions on both ears with hair
loss. She is HW positive (but has been started on treatment),
UTD on her shots and has been spayed. Paris is just learning
what it is to be a pet. Being inside, getting fed regularly
and being brushed have done wonders for her. She is learning
to enjoy the attention and affection. She is housebroken. She
is slowly learning to walk on the leash. Paris would probably
do best in a home where she is the only dog. She is in desperate
need of a loving, patient home. Her true golden qualities are
just starting to emerge. Are you that special forever home?
