Update in May 2010:
update on riley May 5, 2010
Riley was adopted on March 26, 2008. He was a year old. He has matured into a wonderful, playful friend. He is not short on being spoiled and at times he thinks he is human. He loves to lay across your lap while you are watching TV and has his own basket full of his babies(stuffed animals). He is very quick to pull everything out, but just hasn’t figured how to pick up. Of course he loves to play with the tennis ball. Last year he got a 'chunk it' for his Bday and will bring it to you letting you know it’s time to play. He greets everybody with one of his babies or a tennis ball. Just recently we joined the new City Park dog park. He knows the word play, he is going to the park. Once in the park, he loves to romp and play with all of the other dogs, and not an aggressive nature towards the other dogs at all. His personality is just awesome, he just loves people and other dogs. As you can see from the photos he really enjoys every aspect of life. He is truly a treasure.

Reilly went to his forever
home in late March 2008.
Reilly went to his forever home with Eric on Saturday, March 29. Eric
and Reilly seem to be a perfect match. Eric has already enrolled
him in obedience training beginning on Monday evening. Eric plans
to give Reilly the level of exercise that he needs and has an understanding
that he needs training to become the perfect pet. I am so happy for
both of them.
Reilly is a very beautiful young dark red male golden between 1-2years
old. He was picked up as a stray and taken to the Baton Rouge shelter.
He was very underweight (44 lbs) when we took him in to the program
but a diet of puppy food has returned him to a good weight. He is HW-,
neutered and UTD on his shots. He is crate trained but does not show
any evidence of former training in basic commands. He is a work in
progress. He gets along well with other dogs and all people. He loves
to play with toys and retrieve. He is extremely interested in the water
birds that inhabit the area behind my house. This happy little dog
enjoys being where ever you are but will amuse himself without requesting
constant attention. He is working on his gold medal in counter surfing-but
does now understand what is not acceptable behavior. Due to his age
and energy level he should not go to a home with very young children.
Reilly will make a perfect pet for the person ready to devote the time
to excercise and training that he requires.
