Rosalyn now Rosie

Rosalyn went to her forever home in NH on November 4th, 2006.

Update from her mommy on March 19, 2008, she lives with shiloh, another GSGRR doggie:

Shiloh is awesome. She has finally slowed her growing down. She is bigger than my two male goldens, but thinks she is a lap dog. She is like "Clifford the Dog". Shiloh is very loving and full of personality.

Rosie who was sooooo timid is the greeter of our neighborhood. She makes her visits in the morning - barking at neighbors doors for a pat or a treat. Our vet lives 3 houses down and has 8 Australian Shepards that heard his sheep. Sometimes Rosie hangs out in the kennel with these friends, rolls around in the playroom with kids at another house, sleeps in front of the woodstove at still another home. One morning she did her usual bark, my neighbor opened the door. Rosie came in for a visit, but she didn't head to the playroom like she usually does. She found the bedroom and jumped up on the bed and snuggled with my other neighbor who had just come home from the hopital after having surgery. Pet therapy is a great thing!
Thanks, Marlena

Good Morning,
Rosie is doing great. For a dog who spent most of her time outside, she
quickly has found the best seat in the house - the love seat. She is
willing to share it with anyone who wants to rub her head.
When she first came home, we had to carry her over the threshhold. Now she freely runs through the door after having lots of fun running on the back
hill with her 3 new buddies. They are all getting along very well. they
love to play tug-o-war and chase each other. Rosie is very fast. She is
starting to play with some of the doggie toys.
She needs to gain a little weight. We have continued her on the same diet
that Rosie was on at the Butts. A few supplements have been added. Rosie
likes to counter surf and the kids like to "share" their food (i.e. pizza,
waffles, bagels) with her.
Stairs are a major obstacle for her - we continue to work on that a few
steps at a time. She is getting better. Rosie sleeps on Billy's bed with
him, which is on the second floor. She has explored all the rooms in this
big old country house, the kitchen and family room are her favorite.
Cars and paved driveways are a scary thing for her. Wondering if the hot
pavement down south burnt her feet. I need to lift her into the car. She
rides well until I stop, then she starts trembling. I think she feels we
are going to leave her behind. I take her with me to pick my daughter and
neighbor's children up from school every afternoon. I hope with all the
love she gets when the kids get in the car that Rosie will soon realize she
is never being abandoned again.
Her vet appointment got rescheduled for next week - they had an emergency.
Each day, we get to see more of Rosie's personality blossom. And she gains
more confidence. She is a very sweet girl, who we love very much. She is
definitely home forever.
We thank everyone at GSGRR for their kindness and dedication. Especially
for the gift of Rosie.

Hi,
We were 15 minutes late getting to the airport. Traffic was much heavier than expected. What a beautiful little golden girl we found waiting for us. After several minutes of coaxing, she crept out of her crate. We tried to get her to walk the short distance to the car, but she crawled one step forward and 2 steps backwards. All the time wagging her tail. The guys at the terminal were worried that Rosalyn was injuried during the flight. We explained her history. They were very helpful and kind.

She sat in the backseat between Billy (6) and Alley (12). She rested her head on Alley's lap. About 15 minutes into the ride, she reached up and licked Alley's face and looked over a Billy still wagging her tail. She was home.

Again she needed a little coaching to get out of the car, but soon she was sniffing and exploring our yard with our 3 other Goldens. She wouldn't go in the house, so Mike carried her in. After 1 hour, she will go back and forth from the kitchen to the family room. Her favorite spot is under the table. Rosalyn seems to like the smell of pizza (but wouldn't go to close to the oven). The other dogs are upstairs while we let her get use to her home and rest from her trip.

We cannot find words to thank you for all your kindness and caring. You are doing such an awesome service to these wonderful dogs.

THANK YOU !

My name is Roselyn and I am about 1 year old. I have been passed around between a couple different families. I was taken from my last family because they kept me chained to a tree without any food or water. I am up to date on my shots and HW negative. I will be spayed in a couple of weeks and then will be looking for a real forever home. Through all my bad experiences my foster mom still thinks I am one sweet girl. She works with me everyday and I am really getting to like people who love me. Could you find a place in your heart to let me come and live with you? I am very playful and love to spend time with other dogs.
