Sammy

August 13th-Dear Kathy, I'm still not tired! This place is a blast! Love, Sammy

Sammy went to his forever home in Rochester NY on August 10th, 2007. He is joining GSGRR alumni, Chance.

Update from his new momma:

Hi Kathy,

Sammy's transition couldn't be going better! Chance accepted him after about a 5 minute introduction and they are now "BFF'. They play, play play and then when Chance can hardly take it anymore, they both go and lie in the pool together. Sammy is not used to an unfenced yard so he tends to wander with his nose working overtime. This morning, my husband was in the back yard with the dogs and Sammy wandered down the driveway. Mike had left a leash on Sammy just in case. So, he told Chance to go get Sammy and Chance ran over, picked up the leash and brought Sammy back!! I am not kidding!

We then went for a very long walk to the park. We were able to unleash Sammy and he just ran and swam the whole time. With a little training, I mean very little, he came every time he was called.

Well, he is finally tired and is taking an afternoon nap. Ummmm, that's not a bad idea.

Hope to talk to you soon and I will definitely send more pictures. Thank you for sending us such a wonderful addition to our family!

Are you looking for a new best friend and a lifelong companion? Well then, look no further, because I am here and Sammy’s my name.

I am a very young man, a little over a year, my coat is a very light blonde in color and I have a summer haircut. My previous owners thought it would keep me cooler but I feel naked without my fur. I am a small boy around 50 pounds and every one of those pounds is packed full of love for my forever home. I am very, very affectionate and would like nothing better than to crawl up next to you or lay at your feet and take a nap.

My foster mom and I are learning to walk together on a leash and she said the Dog Whisperer would be very proud of me and how I was doing.
One of my best charactertics is trying to please you! Nothing brings me more joy than you telling me “good boy” and giving me pets.

Now for some of the basics, I get along well with other dogs, great with kids, and unfortunately heartworm positive. GS said not to worry about that because with the slow treatment I’ll be negative in just a few short years.

I want so much to have a forever home. If you supply the home, I’ll supply the LOVE !
