Teddy now Beau

Teddy went to his forever home on Friday May 25th, 2007. He will join Margit and another doggie. Teddy will split his time between NYC and Stephentown, NY.

update on december 20, 2008:

Molly and Beau began bonding with each other as soon as Molly arrived last night. Molly slept through the night beside her Mom's bed and woke up ready to play with Beau. They are currently romping through the snow in Central Park in an area popular with Golden Retriever owners.

Teddy came him from the St. Tammany Parish Shelter on 8 May 07. He is both a beautiful and very affectionate dog. Teddy appears to be about 2 years old. He has previously had some obedience work and has responded well to twice away training sessions. He comes when called, quickly sits on command and we are working on stay. Teddy walks nicely on a leash.

Teddy received his shots, minus rabies, in the shelter and was dewormed.
His heartworm test was negative. We bathed him and gave him Interceptor
and Front Line. He needs to be neutered and receive his rabies shot which
we will schedule next week.

Our initial evaluation of Teddy is that he is a great family dog who
should do well with children. Teddy will thrive in a setting where he
gets a lot of attention and activity. He is submissive to people and
does not show aggression to other dogs even when a food bowl is present.
Additional comments will follow in a few days.
