Taffy

Taffy went to her forever home on Sunday February 12, 2006. She will be living in Louisiana.

Update on May 12, 2006:

Taffy is wonderful! The sweetest dog with so much love. She has really
filled out to become even more beautiful. Taffy is a great fit with the
rest of the family. My parents have a golden named Martha. She and Taffy
have a great time together. Luke, my nephew, is Taffy's new best friend.
He told me that he wants "a Taffy dog".

Taffy and Cleo (the cat) have become friends also. It took a few weeks for
Cleo to get used to sharing the house with someone.

Here are a few photos.

Terrific Taffy

Taffy was rescued by a wonderful man and his wife in western LA. She is a blossoming golden who had puppies a little while ago and was found running along side of the road. She is currently in foster care with several other dogs and is doing really well. She will be vetted and spayed soon.

She is small in size for a one year old doggie and needs to put on some weight. Are you the family who could help her do that and find the love and attention that she deserves?

Here is the note from her hero- Robert--My name is Robert and my wife and I live in Lake Charles, La. We have two Golden's Retrievers (Lucy Belle age 8 and Joy Beth age 5) and are "Hard Core" Golden Retriever" Lovers.

The other day, I was driving and noticed a dog walking along the ditch, then hiding in the bushes every time a car or truck would drive by. As I passed, I saw that she was a "Golden Retriever", severely under weight, ribs and hip bones sticking out. It just broke my heart. I turned around and went back.

The little Golden (we call "Lady") was scared to death, shaking and didn't want to come to me when I called her. After several minutes of soft coaxing, she finally came to me. I loaded her up and brought her to our house. She was scared, not knowing what was in store for the next chapter in her life.

I brought her for a quick check-up to our vet. He scanned her for a ID chip (negative), no test were run, but he estimates that she is about 1 year old, recently had a litter of puppies (6 to 8 weeks ago), but hasn't nursed in a week or two, weight was 29 lbs., severely under nourished and dehydrated. She had a collar, but no tags.

We've been feeding and caring for her and the change in this little dog over the past 3 days is unbelievable. With just a little Love, she has changed from a scared little dog to a Happy, Loving, Golden Retriever.

I want the rest of her life to be nothing but "Love and Trust" from someone who will care for her. I'm not sure what "Lady" has been through, but to look into the eyes of this "Golden", I know she deserves more. I'm hoping you can help us to find "Lady" a Loving Forever Home.
