Beckett- adopted and living in Port Allen, LA

Update in March 2012-

Hi Allicia,
Just wanted to drop a line and let you know how wonderful Beckett is.  He is the most wonderful dog I have ever had the pleasure of sharing my life with.  He is really my best friend and he goes everywhere with me.  We can't wait till the days warm up and dry out so we can get to the park more often!  He is still testing positive for heartworms but we are on top of his treatment and we'll be so excited when he is heartworm free.  Attached are some pictures, hope you guys enjoy the photos.

here is an update on Beckett--

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I put the check in the mail last night for our boy Beckett, and I apologize for the delay.  When I say we haven't had 1 problem with him is an understatement.  He is the most perfect dog we have ever had the pleasure of sharing our home with.  He is loving the attention and the only bad thing we do is let him sleep in the bed at night but to be honest he only stays in bed for about an hour or so then he's off to his own bed for the rest of the night.  He walks with me for 3 miles every evening and we both get a great work out, and even there his leash habits are really great!  He is doing great with the cats, he don't mind them for one minute but we are having to work with him with the parrots.  One of them runs after him and Beckett is wondering what the hell to make of them, the other smaller parrot doesn't trust him yet but daily I can see them making strides to be friends.  I want to thank you guys for such a wonderful pet and giving us the opportunity to have him in our lives, I don't think I will ever own another breed of dog other than the golden retriever and will be coming to you for them.  I will keep you posted on he HW treatment when I take him to the vet. in January after the round of Oxzy we complete at the first of January.
Thanks  Again,
Roy & Danny

Beckett is a handsome, calm, very blond boy with a soulful demeanor. Although he was picked up as a stray in Vermilion Parish and came into rescue heartworm positive, there are signs that a previous owner did show Beckett some love and care. His coat is nicely groomed, and his tail is soft and feathery and completely free of tangles. Beckett is content in his crate during the workday and sleeps quietly on a dog bed at night.

Beckett is just beautiful – inside and out. He’s gentle and loving with a heart-melting presence. He’s one of those dogs that people can’t help but be drawn to, and he accepts friendly visitors, both human and canine, like a gentleman. He’s a “smell the roses” kind of guy who prefers a brisk walk in the neighborhood over a jog, so he would be a nice fit for someone with a less active lifestyle. Beckett gets along very nicely with other dogs, but because he is more reserved than playful, he would do well as an only dog. He would be happiest if he did not have to compete for affection, and he would repay his person with all the love in his heart. Beckett is waiting patiently for the right new family. He will bond easily and completely with an owner who is willing to be with him often and let him be close by.
