"UPDATE 01/11/05."

Hi Jim and Carol,

I just wanted to give you an update on Soleil (formerly Brandy 2.) She has settled in really well. She weighs about 45 pounds now, but she's still eating like a horse, so we should be at her target weight in no time. She has so much energy and is very athletic - she can jump up onto things that our last Golden could never get to. We think she may be much younger than estimated at first - she really acts like a puppy in so many ways, including chewing (!) We have learned to have a rawhide bone available at all times or she will find her own items to chew on. She has really gotten the hang of house training. She is still skittish about doors - big doors, cabinet doors, refrigerator doors, gates. I don't know what it is about them, but they really get to her. She took her first long-distance car trip to snow country at Christmas. She was really a dream in the car (15 hours straight, with a few gas stops), no problems at all. Took a little convincing to get her to "do her business" in snow, but she managed. She really is a sweet dog. We are so thankful that you rescued her, and we got her! I'll send pictures soon. I hope you all are having a good New Year!

Theresa
