Brees shows some training, even though he is from a shelter.  His favorite activity is to fetch a ball.  He will do this over and over, always returning the ball to us and then laying at our feet, waiting for the next throw. When taken into the woods, his recall is good for a puppy.  He also loves to swim in the pond and fetch sticks. He easily goes in and out of a crate, and calmly sleeps through the night in it.  He will often play with a tug rope or ball by himself, tossing and catching it.  Brees also automatically sits when offered a treat and waits for it.  However, when he is excited, he becomes a circus dog, spinning and leaping.  While he sometimes jumps on people, it is not a hard leap, but more a hug with his front paws.

As all this activity implies, Brees is an energetic puppy who will do best with attention and exercise.  He will often run through the house, jumping on couches.  Yet in between he is fairly calm, chewing a bone and chilling.  He also stays outside in our large fenced yard for short periods without barking to get in, even though he will run from window to window to try and get glimpses of the people inside.

Brees is neutered, up-to-date on shots, and housetrained.
