Carlos is an outstanding Golden mix who came to us through a vet in the Shreveport area after a police officer found him. That officer must have known what a special boy he was because he certainly has captured our hearts and those at the vet’s office where we picked him up! We are not sure what Carlos is mixed with but possibly Lab or another intelligent, people pleasing breed. His coat is a beautiful deep gold like a Golden and very soft to the touch, but it is on the short side like a Lab.

Carlos gets along quite well with our two male Goldens and our male cat.  He did very well with a friend’s young child who was visiting when we first took him in, too. Although,  Carlos is great with our boys and a fantastic playmate to them what Carlos wants most is to lay his head in your lap while you pet him. He is crate trained and has not had an accident while with us. He spends his time during the day in the crate and has full run of the house at night although he remains on his bed in our bedroom! He has been given short tests out of the crate with our dogs while no one is home and done magnificently. He enjoys playing in our yard and loves to carry a ball. Carlos is a well mannered, calm young man and knows several basic commands: sit, here, and down. He does not jump but hops in place once we let him out of the crate after a day of work!  He wants most to be where we are and has many of the great Golden characteristics. He is heartworm positive but shows no clinical signs and tolerates exercise just fine. If you think Carlos sounds like the right dog for you, please mention him in your application.
