Mary emails on 3/14/05:

JOEL AND CASSIE ARE FINE. CASSIE LIKES THE OUTSIDE A LOT. SHE HAS A LOG CABIN HOUSE WITH CARPET, BUT SHE ALSO HAS A SPECIAL SPOT UNDER THE STEPS BY THE HANDICAPPED RAMP.

SHE WAS WITH US NOV 1, 2004, ONE YEAR. SHE WENT TO THE VET AND SHE IS DOING FINE. SHE IS ON A DIET SINCE SHE WEIGHS 100 LBS.

HER OTHER FAVORITE SPOT IS UNDER JOEL'S BED. YOU TELL HER TO GO SEE HER "MOM" AND SHE RUNS RIGHT TO HER BED AND PUTS HER PAWS UP ON THE RAILINGS AND WAITS FOR JOEL TO PET HER. NATURALLY HER NEXT STOP IS TO SIT ON MY FEET SO SHE CAN GET HER ATTENTION, WITH HUGS AND KISSES.

AFTER WE GOT HER SHE RAN AWAY 3 TIMES AND MADE FRIENDS WITH ALL THREE PEOPLE. I STARTED CALLING HER THE "STREET WALKER OF LAKEVIEW". LUCKY FOR US WE GOT THE SITUATION UNDER CONTROL WITH THE CLOSING IN OF HER YARD.

SHE IS GREAT AND WE LOVE HER. THANKS SO MUCH. TAKE CARE .

We just recently received this pictures and update of the first dog we place as Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue. Alicia, Judy and Jim took Cassie to visit Joel who has disabilities and needed a real companion. Cassie fit the bill and jumped right into Joel's bed and the bonding began. We all stood there crying as she was so happy with her new forever pal. Somehow I knew right then there would be many more happy unions we would witness. Share in our happiness and see the smile on Joel's face.
