Charley

Chery- his new mom

Charlie went to his forever home on April 7th, 2005 in Long Island New York. He is doing really well.

Update on March 15th:

Hi Lee,

I haven't given you an update on Charley in a long time. Charley is
heartworm free. We celebrated with apple turnovers, which went over very
well with all three dogs. He has been doing great. Has gained a healthy
weight, you wouldn't recognize him. Hope all is well with you.

I also wanted to applaude your efforts with the Katrina dogs. Your all
doing a great job!!!!! I wish I could adopt more.

update on august 22:

Hi Lee:

Charley is doing great!!! He follows me where ever I go. He is starting to
listen very well. Loves all of his toys. I bought him and Sammy puzzle
toys. They are real cute for example: A beehive stuffed with 3 little bees
and the dogs have to try and get them out. They actually have 3 different
ones they are such a big hit. Charley went on his first camping trip in the
beginning of August. We went to Cedar Point which is on the east end of
Long Island. As soon as we went to the beach, he was in the water dog
paddling along. He has gained some weight and looks great. I do have some
pictures to e-mail you.

Hope Rosie & Josie are doing well.

Update from his new mom on april 27th:

Hope all is well. Wanted to let you know how everything was going. Things
are good. Charley, Sammy (Golden), Casey (Great Pyrenes) and Flash (The
Cat) are all getting along just fine. He has already adjusted to our daily
routines. He has gained a few pounds. It took us no time at all to fall in
love with him or he with us. The 3 dogs play together very well. Although,
Charley always likes to be within sight of mom. My husband takes all 3
dogs for a walk every morning. It is a sight to see. He is not crated
anymore. He sleeps between my husband and I at the foot of the bed and
Sammy sleeps between the headboard and my head (don't ask) but there is
enough room.

april 15th: Charley is a very very special dog. He is adjusting very well. He is adjusting so well that yesterday morning
he wanted to get in the shower with me - I had to crate him. I guess he
enjoyed his bath the day before. It really was funny. All the dogs eat
together with no problems, then they have dessert usually a biscuit. He
listens extremely well. He is getting right into the routine. I crated him
the first night and during the day yesterday. Last night he was not crated
and sleep with Sammy and I pretty much the whole night. There won't be any room for my husband when he returns from CA. He has not met Charley yet and is very anxious to see him. Tommorrow Charley will go to the dog salon and have a little primping done.

Well that's about all. I will keep in touch.

on april 14th: Just wanted to let you know all is fine. Charley is a sweetheart. He already had his first bath at home, buried a bone, played outside and took a short nap on the couch with Mom. He and his new brother and sister are getting to know each other and it looks like they will get along just fine. I'll be intouch.

Thanks again.

Chery

Charlie is a 2 year old beautiful red boy. He minds real well and loves to be around people. He does well with other dogs and is going to make someone an excellent companion.
