Pictures above are of Opie and his new sister Daisy in the snow. Does he look happy?

Cindy & Chris received their new boy on 1/25/2004.  He is a beautiful full coated five year old that combines the Golden looks with the Golden personality. He gets along well with everybody and sticks to you like "velcro".

CINDY WRITES on 2/8/2004

"Opie is sooo happy...I took he and Daisy out on a walk today on the conservation trails that surround us... Opie stuck right with Daisy...they ran all over, sniffed everything...Opie kept running back to check on me and make sure I was still around. He's sound asleep curled in a ball now.

We can't thank you and Jim enough for Opie and his care before his adoption....If Petfinder hadn't been working then for the NE Branch, we never would've found Opie!!!! We can't imagine not having him...it's like he's always been with us.

Cindy"

"We second that!

Opie is an AWESOME boy! He's still a bit timid, but he's sooo sweet. He
does cling to us like velcro...Daisy took right to him and we are in
love with him.

At the airport, he jumped into Chris's truck and went right to sleep for
the ride home. At home, Daisy jumped into the truck to check him out.
She ran around the yard like a puppy. He really wanted to run but we
kept him leased, since he needs to learn his name and until we know
he'll come when he's called. He didn't really seem bothered by the cold
or snow, but since more flakes are scheduled to fly this week, we'll see
what he thinks in the end.

We put Opie in his crate last night to go to bed, thinking he'd be most
comfortable with what he knows...he whimpered. Chris went down to get
him and he tentatively learned to navigate the stairs. Opie slept on
the floor next to Chris's side of the bed. In the morning, we found him
under the bed with Daisy. He's been pacing, panting and sniffing
everything, a little unsure of why he's here, but he loves to be hugged,
patted and likes to give lots of kisses....and "cookie time".

This morning, I left him with Daisy while I went to my class (I also
left the TV on for background noise)..everything seemed fine when I got
home. I did block the stairs as I didn't want him to go up with Daisy
and then not be able to come down.

He's just a terrific, sweet Bayou Boy! Daisy and Opie are lying at my
feet while I'm checking email. A neighbor will drop by later to meet
Opie and of course my mother wants to drop by to meet her new Grand Dog!"
