Chloe - adopted in March 2011 - she has captured the hearts of two retired Air Force members here in Shreveport. They love her and are still interested in finding a second Golden that Chloe will approve of! (they adopted charley on 4/9/11)

We just wanted to update you on Chloe.  We are absolutely crazy about her.  The more comfortable she gets with us the more vocal she is becoming.  We get a lot of happy and playful growls and she makes woo woo (mini howls) sounds when she gets excited.  She definitely brings a lot of laughter in the house.  She also demands to be the center of attention by pawing us.  We like to pretend we are ignoring her and she gets adamant that we will pay attention to her.

It looks like we will have to buy more balls, because when she misplaces the two she has, she gets frustrated and has us looking for them too.

She loves taking walks, but when it is time to turn around to go home she acts mopey and walks slow. It is a pain when it is a walk before we go to work.  We took her for a long walk on the trails on Teague parkway.   She was so well behaved and stayed with us all the time.  She is a dog to be proud of.

Chloe loves to eat and she acts like she never gets enough.  I have never seen a dog that would eat anything.  The vet told us to get her human allergy pills because she acted like she was having some kind of allergy symptoms.  We were floored when she would take the pills right out of our hands and eat them.  What a strange dog, but we love her.

Here are a couple of pictures.  We misplaced our camera when we had to consolidate rooms because we had the carpeting replaced this week, so when we find it again we will send more.

We will take her to New Orleans this weekend to meet Charley, see how they get along and possibly adopt him.   We didn't like the idea of him not having a permenant home nor anyone wanting him because of his medical issues.  It just happens he has exactly the same medical issues I have and I would hate it if I didn't have a permanent home.

Well let you know how it goes.

Charley has gone to live with Glen, Helen, and recently adopted GSGRR alumni Chloe in Bossier City.  Glen and Helen are true animal lovers and we are thrilled with Charley becoming a part of their family.

Chloe is what we like to call the PERFECT dog! She was turned into the Jefferson Parish animal shelter due to her previous owner’s loss of a job and vehicle. She has been a wonderful guest from the moment that she left the shelter. Aside from being one gorgeous blonde girl, she is an extremely calm, well tempered Golden. She knows several basic commands like sit, come, down, speak and walks well on a leash. She is well behaved around our cat and gets along well with our two male dogs, but is definitely the alpha female of the group. Chloe enjoys taking rides in the car and has been wonderful on several road trips. She enjoys playing with toys especially tennis balls. Most of all she enjoys being near us and loves to have her ears rubbed as she suffers from chronic ear infection that is easily controlled with Memetomax. She has become more agile with increased exercise, play, and daily glucosamine at our home. It must have been heartbreaking for her owners to turn her into the shelter because she is truly one amazing beauty who deserves another wonderful home.
