Colt- adopted April 2011

updated photos in feb 2012

Thanks for reaching out Alicia.  All I can say is "Colt" (now our "Coco") has lit up our lives in the past year.  He has meshed perfectly with our other two little ones and our kitties.  He is an older golden who has litterally gained a spring in his step since being with his new family!  He is more energetic and lively every day.  He has also probably traveled more in his time with us and loves nothing more than snoozing on a good road trip with some head-out-of-the-window time.  He has even been on hikes in the appalachians and swam in the Gulf of Mexico!  He is the most mellow, good-natured dog--with a fun level of animation every evening when he knows it's time for his walk!  We have 3 nephews and he sleeps with them when they visit--they are his boys. :)  I would recommend a golden adoption for anyone who is looking for a wonderful addition to their family that will often leave them trying to remember how life wasn't empty before their golden arrived.  Every day is sweeter, every experience better with Coco in our lives.  He is a good boy.

I attached some pics of him from this year...just enjoying life!

Colt was an owner turn in due to a change in his family's life situation.  They were heartbroken to have to give him up but they had no choice.  Colt is a special needs dog due to bad knees and eye issues.  The vets at Abadie Vet Hosp treated his eyes with steroids for 10 days which helped immensely.  Initially they thought Colt may need eye surgery as he has had in the past but now they feel he will be ok with the occasional need for steroid drops.  He needs Adiquan shots for the next month to help with his knees along with Rimadyl and glucosamine prescriptions to help combat the arthritis.

As of today, he is adopted by Amanda and Alex.  His new family will take care of him from here on out!  He gets along very well with their 2 small dogs and does ok with the cats.
