Daphne was adopted in January 2008
and will be living in LA.
Daphne is in her
forever home in New Orleans, LA tonight. Thanks Jim M for all
your help in transporting Daphne to her forever home today.
Update on January 26, 2008:
Hi Kathy,
Just wanted to let you know that Daphne is doing great! I promise
to sit
down tonight and send pictures--I'm sorry I haven't gotten them
to you yet!
She is just the sweetest thing and everyone who meets her loves
her!
Thanks for everything again!
Wendy
Hi Kathy,
Just wanted to let you know that Daphne is here
and is doing amazingly well! She has been very relaxed and happy.
I was worried that she would be very anxious, but she's been
exploring and seems fine.
Again, thanks so much for everything! She is
even more beautiful than her
pictures! I'll send pictures soon.
I just wanted to share some new photos of Daphne learning what
it is like to be a Golden Retriever in a good home!! She is
just beginning to come out of her shell and enjoying life. She
is going to make a fantastic companion to someone!! Kathy
My name is Daphne
and just as Apollo pursued me in the myths, I will pursue you
in your life. I promise not to turn into a laurel leaf but I
do promise to become your best friend and the love of your life.
I am a two year old Golden/Lab mix and oh so
sweet. My foster family doesn’t think I’ve had much
of a puppy life. I didn’t know what toys were; but I am
finding out now. Dog biscuits were another novelty and I didn’t
know what to do with it until they broke it in half and I could
smell it was yummy. And boy was it yummy!! I haven’t a
clue yet what the small round thing is that they throw on the
ground, but I am getting curious. I am learning to walk on a
leash too, and boy it is fun to get out and walk along just
like my foster brothers and sisters do. I am quite proud of
myself to walk right along side my family. I LOVE to play with
my foster brothers and sister too. I am fast, really fast and
I can keep all of them running and no one can catch me. Everyone
wants to play with me and I don’t have a single mean streak
in any piece of fur in my coat.
My foster family thinks I am a very special
girl even though I’ve had a hard life so far; at least
one litter of puppies (but not anymore). I am completely house
trained, and can be left in the house when you leave to run
errands. I am about 55 pounds right now and eating like crazy;
have to make up for lost meals. My coat is very soft but that
first bath was really scary, but put out a kiddy pool of water
and I am in heaven. I have a healed cut on my right back leg
(I can’t tell them what happened) that is missing fur
right now and my foster family doesn’t know if fur will
grow back or not but they are pretty certain that my coat will
grow long and hide the scar. I also like to sleep in silly positions;
from a tight little ball to an almost ninety degree angle. My
foster family thinks it is really cute and has taken quite a
few pictures, so just ask and they will send them to you.
Have you seen my eyes; they are almost Golden
in color, with long eyelashes to match?
I am so anxious to please you, so could you
please adopt ME? I won’t disappoint you!!
These are some additional photos
of Daphne in her various sleeping
positions; which are many!!
She is an extremely sweet, and smart girl. After just a few
days on a leash
she is a great walking partner. She loves to play with all the
other dogs;
especially Buddy. She is becoming more and more affectionate
too. She
obliviously wasn't aware of much human touch and is finding
out that is
pretty good stuff. Also have seen that raised brooms, and mop
handles scare her.
