Me and my new momma!!
After a hard night of partying !!
Dylan was adopted by Bonnie on June 27, 2009. He will be well loved. Update from Dylan: Hi Ya'll, I want to thank everybody that has made my adoption possible. I love both my foster moms Lucille and Darlene and miss them. I appreciate all the work that Miss Jeanne did, the transportation grant from Miss Lee and transportation to the airport and reservations by Mr. Malay. Special thanks to GSGRR for all they do for puppies, like me, who need adoptive homes. I love you all.
I am now getting settled into my new forever home in coastal Connecticut. I had a nice airplane ride, in fact I liked it so much the pilot flew me around for almost an extra hour before we landed in Boston. My forever mommy and Auntie Meg were right there waiting for me. It was love at first sight for everybody.
At Auntie Meg's, I first learned to do stairs. I can get up okay but Mom and I have finally worked out a way to get down safely. Mom holds me, by my collar, and goes one step ahead of me so if I fall, I fall into her. She is softer than wood or cement.
I got to my forever home on Monday and met Oscar No, Emmy Brianna, and little Monet; my feline siblings. In fact, I have asked Emmy to write this letter because she is fluent in feline, canine, and humanine and is very good on the computer. The little kids are very friendly but don't like it when I try to chase them. They know I won't hurt them and we do cuddle. Baleigh trained them well to love Goldens.
I have two first cousins, Winston 6, and Boomer has just had his first birthday and they are my Uncle Geoff's black labs. They have a huge back yard and we drive over around noon most days to play. Boomer is a little crazy for the first few minutes then he settles down. I think he is just happy to see me.
There are a lot of pups in our neighborhood and I have had two play dates. Whenever we go for a walk, we meet lots of dogs and kids. We live in a beach community year-round but this time of year, it is just full of kids and dogs. Mom will take me swimming with her, when the water temperature gets up to 65 degrees.
I know I am not suppose to be allowed on the furniture, but I put my paw up on the couch then look at Mom with my beautiful, brown, puppy eyes and Mom melts. Next thing I know, she lifts me up and we have quality cuddle time. I have a whole basket full of toys. I am very good at taking them out to play but haven't learned to put them back when I am finished. Tomorrow, if the weather is better, we will set up my kid pool.
Yesterday, Mom called a lady at a place in Massachusetts, where they make carts for dogs that have challenges like mine. Not only would it help with my walking outside, but it would help prevent future problems with my good front paw and my back.
I am very happy here, even though they talk differently from New Orleans. Anybody from GSGRR is always welcome to visit and go swimming with me.
Love,
Dylan
