Emma in LA- Now Honey

Emma went to her forever home on
Saturday May 26th, 2007 and is going to live in Algiers, LA.
Update from her parents:
Attached are some pictures that
we took on Saturday when we brought Honey home to live with
us. She's finally began to eat today and she seems to be feeling
a little more secure in her new home also. I was wondering whether
you knew how long Honey had been at the Hammond shelter before
you rescued her and whether they had given you any information
as to why she ended up at the shelter because it was obvious
that she was well taken care of. I would just like to know a
little of her background if you knew anything.
Hi Jim and Judy,
Just wanted to give you an update on Honey Loup (formerly Emma).
Honey is adjusting to her new home great. Of course, she's got
all kinds of new
toys and her new kennel crate which she seems to really like.
Honey went
for her vet checkup today and got a clean bill of health, other
than being
told that she's a little overweight, which we already knew.
She weighed in
at 86 pounds so we'll have to work on getting some of that off
of her. We
also got her micro-chipped today and started her on heartworm
prevention so I think she's off to a good start with her new
family. As do all Goldens,
she loves attention and hugging, and we're eager to oblige her!
We're
probably spoiling her too much, but we want her to feel welcome
in her new
environment. We've sent pictures of her to our family members
and they
can't wait to meet her in person. Our daughter and granddaughter
just love
her to death, as do we. The only "problem" we're having,
if you can call it
a problem, is that when we take her walking and she decides
that she wants to stop, she does just that - she stops where
she is and won't move and sometimes even rolls over to have
her belly petted. No matter how much we try to make her move,
it doesn't work until she's ready to go again so we have to
work on that. Any suggestions you can give us would be a big
help. Other than that, we can only say that she is such a joy
to have and is
helping to fill the void left by our Golden/Sharpei
mix, Edie.
John and I can't thank you and commend you and
your organization enough for the wonderful work that you're
doing in saving these beautiful dogs. Had it not been for the
GSGRR website, we would have never found our new
sweetheart! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
John and Marie
My name is Emma. I am about 2 to
3 years old. I am a good looking girl and get along well with
everybody. I really like to be loved on. I came into GSGRR with
my brother Nick who is also on the web page. I am looking for
my forever home and I do not have to be placed with my brother.
If you can provide me with the love I so deserve I will be yours
forever.
