Gordy
update on 9/1/2011
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update on Buddy. He has now been a part of our family for over 3 months and fits like a glove. He knows our routines and is a wonderful addition to our family. We took him to the vet on Monday for his heartworm check-up. If you remember, he was on slow treatment and we were hoping for the best...well we got it! He was completely cleared by the vet. He now weighs a healthy 75 pounds and the vet said he could still gain another 5 pounds and be okay. I will tell you a funny story about him. We celebrated my birthday early in August and my husband brought home some cupcakes from a bakery here. We left to go eat dinner and Buddy desparately tried to go with us. He snuck out the door with the kids and tried to climb in the Suburban. We made him go back in the house, much to his dismay. When we returned home less than 2 hours later, the cupcakes wer e missing. Yes, he ate 10 cupcakes. I was so worried about him, but he never got sick from them. The funniest thing is that he has never counter surfed before...he doesn't mess with any meat we have or ANYTHING. But he was mad at us and wanted to make a statement...and he did! I don't know, maybe it was really his birthday and he thought they were for him! Either way, we have laughed about how his personality continues to show more and more. So, thanks for saving this sweet dog and for letting us adopt him...we are forever in your debt! I will try to send a picture as soon as I can get it uploaded from the camera.
Thanks again!
Andy, Lisa, Haven, Drew, and of course, Buddy
