Griffin

Griffin went to his forever
home in New Hampshire on June 11th, 2005.
Update on July 21st:
Hi Jim, Hi Lee!
Greetings from Griffin & Co.! I was checking out the website as
I do from time to time and I was so happy to read about the other dogs
who came up with Griffin to the Northeast! I am so excited for Jon,
Jane & Sam! They look so happy! I wish Jon the best with his treatments.
I was also excited to see updated pictures of Reagan. He looks so much
better! Griffin had a check up at the vet a little while ago and he
is doing fine. They removed his sutures and told me he is a little
overweight. My! Can you believe that??? :) They would like him to lose
ten pounds. As hard as he plays and runs around, that should be no
problem. Personally, I think he looks stunning! I am enclosing a big
smile for you from the Griffster! Lee, my lab is getting along fine
and living at the lake. Her cancer is inoperable, but she is comfortable
and having a ball. We are watching her closely for signs of discomfort,
but for now, she is still with us.I am sending a photo of her too.
I wouldn't want her to be jealous. For 15, I think she's beautiful.
Please send our best to Sam & his family and if I could, I'd give
Reagan a huge hug! I hope he finds a special home!
Thanks!
Jen

Update from mom on June 25th.
Hi Jim, Hi Lee!
Well, after relaxing by the back yard pool this morning, Griffin went
to the lake today! It was wicked hot in town, so he went for his
first "official" visit with lots of doggie friends around.
I am enclosing some pictures of Griffin's swim... 1st is Griffy swimming
alone - Next is Griffin with his friends (from the left - Shadow,
Elmo, Annie & Griffin). Griffin did VERY well! Not one growl
or lunge! I am so proud of him! In fact, he walked right by the cat
today and never made a sound! He has been so good! Next is a picture
of Griffin in his favorite spot - right under Nate's feet and then
napping with me on a hot day in the a/c. A great time was had by
all! Griffin is trying very hard. I think he knows now that he is "forever
home" and feels a little less like everything is a threat to
his new territory. Well, dinner time - Griffin already knows the
grill is going. He's a big begger! Thanks again - and I'll be in
touch!

Griffin is a 8 year old that has been
displaced due a family change. He is a great guy. He loves people and
gets along well with other dogs. He will make someone an excellent
dog.
Lee, Jim, Virginia and everyone at GSGRR,
Griffin has safely arrived at his forever home in the Northeast Kingdom
of Vermont!! He is such a wonderful boy! He couldn't be sweeter, but
you all know that! We tried to get him sit a little still for a picture,
but he is very excited and is busy checking out his new house and yard!
Boy! What a belly rub lover! He has had about a thousand belly rubs
already! These pictures aren't that great, but they will do until I
can take better pictures. Sydney & Jakob just adore him! Griffin
is curious about our cat, but she is letting him know who's boss. There's
a lot of hissing going on when they run into each other, but once she
figures out that he's not going anywhere, she will ignore him like
she does Shadow and our previous golden, Marley. Griffin seems to have
really taken a liking to Nate. He follows him everywhere and sits right
at his feet. It must be a man thing. I didn't realize Griffin was neutered
so recently and that's why I called Jim about the bandage on his belly.
I just wanted to make sure I wasn't supposed to be doing something
special for him. Shadow seemed a little unsure about Griffin. At first,
I was a little nervous, but they seem to be doing just fine now. After
all, it has only been a few hours! Griffin has found a spot he likes
already in the living room, and I shall lay out his blankey for him.
I would like to know when he was last given his Heartgard & Frontline
so that I know when he needs his next dose. I may have just over looked
it in his medical papers, but I can't seem to find it. WOW!! We are
so happy and love him so much already. He's amazing! He really seems
to have settled right in. Tomorrow I shall take him to the lake to
see how he likes the camp. It should be awesome. I will be in touch!
Our heartfelt thanks,
Jen, Nate & the kids
