Hope 4- updated photos in oct 2009

Update in October 2009:

I haven't emailed for a bit and I just wanted to send an update about Hope and of course some pictures.

October has been a milestone month for us. On the 11th we celebrated the amazing gift we received from GSGRR 1 year ago. That was the day Hope entered our lives and has made us smile every day since. We celebrated the day with a new bagel bed, some new toys, a special meal and then a nice long walk with her sister Sadee. It was a perfect day!

The next October milestone that Hope surpassed was on the 21st. That was the day we got the results back from Hope's heartworm test..................NEGATIVE!!! The vet actually gave us a certificate of health listing Hope as HW negative with a copy of the lab results too. Mostly as a keep-sake because she new the journey we all had taken tackling HW. Hope also tested negative for the other tests she was checked for on that day as well.

So ....................WOO HOO HOPE!!!

Hope is doing great and she and Sadee have bonded into best buds. They're almost never apart and frequently sleep side by side.

Jeanne, Judy please send this to whomever might like to here about Hope.

I hope this email finds all who read it happy, healthy and with a wet cheek from being licked.

Thanks,
Carl in RI

Hope went to her forever home in Rhode Island on October 11, 2008 and joined another young golden.

update in january 2009:

To all the hard working, volunteer, dog-loving folks at GSGRR:

As of this writing, Hope has completed all of her treatments but remains on a limited activity level (house or crate confinement and leash walking). On January 26th, Hope will have a microfilaria test and an antigen test for heartworms and also another test for intestinal worms."Hope"fully all the tests will come up negative. But I do realize that sometimes it can take up to 4 months for the adult HW antigen to clear and test negative.

Let me say that in the 3 months Hope has been with us, we have come to realize what a great privilege we have been granted by GSGRR in allowing us to become the care-givers for this happy, gentle and loving golden girl. Hope surely deserves a chance for a long, healthy and loved life.

Thank you all for helping Hope.

Now, if I can just stop her 14 month old sister (Sadee) from doing cart wheels
to entice Hope to play every second they're together................... ;-)

Thanks,
Carl

Update from her new momma on oct 16, 2008:

Hi Jeanne,
Hi Tracy,

Finally got the time to sit down at the computer! :) Anyway, things are fine in the dog world up here in Cumberland, RI.
The girls are working out who's going to be the boss. In another day or two I think they'll have it figured out. They're both doing great, Hope is eating and drinking well. We're working on her house training.

I really don't think that'll take too long, she's real smart.

If I let her, I think Hope would keep her head on our laps the entire day. What a love-bug!

Thanks so much everyone! Yes, of course I sent pics................. :)

Thanks,
Carl
