update on may 31.

Dear Judy:
I just wanted to let you know that we are thrilled to announce the addition of Kip to our family. The boys have re-named him Cody which he seems to be quickly be getting used to. We had fun driving outside Morgan City to meet he and Chance, but got a flat tire on the way home. Thankfully, he and Misty handled the long drive and the delay like champs.

Although the foster parents said Kip/Cody needed to be around people more to get used to them, and both he and Chance were VERY calm when we met them, Cody has already warmed up and pepped up! He and Misty get along great and chase each other when playing in the back yard. It took one day for us to teach Cody to jump on the bed and now he sleeps with me and Dave. Actually, he lays on top of me if I let him. I would say that he has very quickly warmed up to all of us. He is also extremely gentle with all three of the boys. Not surprisingly, as he gets more comfortable at his new home, his energy level soars! He also has a little habit of chewing inappropriate household items, so we have stocked up on rawhides in all shapes and sizes.

Unfortunately, we believe he must have been hit by his original owners because sometimes he flinches when you go to pet him. And, when Dave took down a suitcase and plopped it on the bed, Cody flinched and ran for cover. Don't worry though, I think he is learning fast how gentle we all are and how much love he will get here. He seems housebroken since he holds it at night, and thankfully since my 5 year old had his tonsils and adnoids out last Friday, we will both be home most of the next 2 weeks to help him fully adjust.

We cannot thank you enough for helping us find our newest family member. We will take photos this weekend and e-mail them to you. Thanks again, Tracy

P.S. If any other possible parents want to ask us about Chance before making the drive to see him, please tell them to feel free to give us a call. Chance was also a sweetie and it was a tough decision although the boys unanimously picked Kip. We would love to see Chance get a good home too!

Kip is about 1 year old and is the littermate of Chance. He needs some tender loving care. They both are laid back and are responding well to human attention. They are in a foster home where they play with two of goldens and do really well. They will quickly respond to all the loving they will receive. They are heartworm negative and ready to go.
