Lexie

updated photos on May 15, 2007:

Lexie went to her forever home in Laconia NH on April 11th, 2007.

Update from Jeanne, who picked up Lexie at Logan airport on wed.

She was a little hesitant to come out of the crate, but with a little coaxing she did. She spread out on the back seat and took a nap on the way home. Her new Mom was waiting for us outside, camera in hand.

When we went inside, she immediately lay down by her new Dad's feet and let him stroke her. I called this afternoon and everything was fine. Lexi was a little puzzled when she discovered the ground covered with snow.

My name is Lexie and even though I have an adorable bear cub face don’t let that fool you, I am still a Golden Retriever. My brother and I (Jackson, who is also listed on the website) have always been together as outside dogs. Our previous owners had to move to an apartment and they couldn’t take us with them. They did take good care of us because we are both heartworm negative. Although I miss them I certainly love being an inside girl now. My brother is in another foster home and I really don’t miss him too much since I have a foster brother and two foster sisters right now. I love to play fetch and I also love to keep that ball close to me too when I am sleeping.

From the picture if you really, really close my back left leg is not fully developed into a foot but believe me that doesn’t stop me for a minute when it’s time to play ball or go on a short walk. My foster Daddy is working on some different types of little boots for me to wear outside so I can play ball to my heart’s content.

Did I mention that I am really nine years old and my only gray hairs are on the very tip of my tail where no one can see them unless they are looking for them. I have a fantastic thick coat that makes my foster family call me a “little bear”. I am a very quiet girl, very, very affectionate and love to snuggle with my foster “skin” brother you can see in the picture below.

I am an affectionate little girl who has lots of love to give to you. I promise when you pet me that I will put my paw over your arm to show you how much I like you. Do you think you could love me forever??
