Lilly 3 now Josie - adopted to NH

Lilly 3 went to her forever home on April 25th 2010 and is very happy.

Yesterday Lilly was met at the airport in Boston by her new family from Central NH. This family had adopted a puppy named Susie, now called Sammie, from GSGRR in 2005.

Lilly came out of her crate tail wagging and immediate began licking everyones' hands. This young puppy has made amazing progress since she was first rescue by a woman in Arkansas and came into GSGRR foster care with Jennifer and Brad.

Once she was adoption pending, she moved to Darlene's home so she could be spayed by our vet. Diane picked her up at the vet office and took Lilly to her home. There Diane and her family worked with Lilly to help her overcome her cautious nature around humans.

This morning Lilly (now called Josie) greeted her new Mom with " her tail wagging so hard she almost fell over". She has already begun to interact with the two children in the family.

Thanks goes out to all of you who helped this puppy make the journey to her forever home.

Here is an another update from her new momma:

Hi Jeanne,

I wanted to let you know how things are going now that Josie has been with us for 3 days…

She is quickly adjusting to life with the Parker family and is becoming more comfortable all the time.  She has decided that the sunroom is her favorite place to be and we find her snuggled in there whenever she is not following Sammie or one of us around the houseJ  We’ve been taking her out to the same area of the yard to relieve herself and she’s already heading that way when we go out the back door.  She’s slowly learning her name and has been testing the waters by stealing shoes, jumping on the sofa and eating the cat food as fast as she can – it’s pretty hilarious but she’s learning what her boundaries are quickly with our guidance.

Today was the first day that the two dogs started really playing – jumping/rolling around, chasing each other and tugging on toys together.  It is in short lived doses right now but the signs are strong that they are becoming good friendsJ

We’ll send pictures in the next few days so you can see Josie in her new home with her big, fuzzy sister,
Warmest Regards,
Amy

Lilly3 came to us after being abandoned in a rural area of Arkansas.  She is a very calm, friendly puppy.  She is good with our male dogs and cat.  She is learning to play and is more socialized each day. With continued exposure to our home, toys, and love, she is becoming more comfortable and trusting .   Based on her behavior when put on a leash, she will need lots of walks and more training as this appears to be a new concept for her.  She is excellent in her crate and has been a true joy in our home.  Are you ready to give her the time and love that all puppies deserve? If you think Lilly3 is the dog for you please complete our online application and mention her name.
