"Max went to his forever home in Arkansas on 10/16/04"
Update: Max is doing wonderful in South Arkansas. After the 5 hour drive home, and the shopping spree at Pet Smart, he is adjusting well. We just love him to pieces. We are so greatful for your organization in matching him with us. He is doing wonderful and goes everywhere with us. We now have "dog" day at work, where we all bring our pets to work with us. Needless to say, I think all the guys have been in our office at some point to meet the dogs. We started taking him to the nursing home on Saturdays to see Nanny. He is really calm with all the residents and doesn't shy from them or any of the loud noises that sometimes occur. We are enrolled in obedience school, to see if we can teach this old dog some new tricks. I started to use a gentle leader on him, because he is so strong. He is adapting well to the house and has taken over the floor next to my bed as his own. He is a great watch dog and lets me know when anyone new comes to the house. He loves to swim in the pond and thinks the horses are cool. He is adjusting to the neighbor's hyper rat terrier "Pebbles" who comes to play with him every afternoon. Again, we thank you so much for matching him up to our family. We are so happy to have him. I promise we will send pictures, I haven't even taken the film to get developed yet. We have some wonderful pictures of him and the horses, and dressed up for halloween. Thanks! Calli
