Max 9 -adopted and living in Harahan LA

updated in feb 2012

Dear Alicia and  GSGRR volunteers,
Our Max (formally your Max9) is WONDERFUL!!!!  He is such a sweet dog.  We go to Lafreniere Dog Park with him and he enjoys being with the other dogs, but most of all he enjoys just running and sniffing in the  park.  My husband, Jerry, takes him for walks every day.  Max, we have found, loves no-salt added canned carrots and green beans as a treat with his meals.  He also bows before he eats.  He is a great addition to our family.  All our friends love coming over to meet him and he is always well-behaved.  We will be having a Mutts in the Marigny Pet fest on February 25th and Max will be in the "kissing booth."
I am so thankful to GSGRR for allowing us to have this wonderful "son."

Max9 is a very friendly and happy dog. He's always smiling and wagging his tail.
He's good with other dogs and great with kids. He like to run and play with his foster sisters and he loves to chase squirrels. Lucky for Max there are plenty of squirrels here for him to chase.

Max9 likes to be with his people and will follow you from room to room to keep you company. He is a pleasure to have around. He'll happily stay by your side as long as you want to pet him and will lay quietly near you  when you're busy. He's not pushy at all.

Max9 is crate trained. He'll go into his crate easily when given a treat and stays in a crate all night without making a sound. He's also happy to spend the night with you in your room without a problem.

Max9 does get a little nervous when there's thunder. He crawled under the bed one night when we had a thunder storm.

Max9 is housebroken and he likes socks. A few socks have lost their toes while he's been here so I've learned to put socks in the hamper when I take them off.

Max9 tested positive for Heartworms. He doesn't have health problems so he has been started on the slow treatment with Doxycycline and Advantage Multi under the guidance of our vet. While under this treatment he is able to continue to be an active dog.
