Molly went to her forever home in October 2007. Today Miss Molly went to her forever home in Mississippi. She had a great day with Lynn; walking, swimming, and more tennis balls in the water to retrieve than she ever thought possible.

From her momma on November 24, 2007:

I have had Molly with me one month today, and I am soooo thankful to have her. She is everything Kathy (foster mom) said that she was ... and a little more. I've found the most wonderful friend to walk Molly on the days I work. It has worked out great for everybody!!

Molly loves swimming in the lakes here, and can't get enough of catching balls. She is very relaxed now, and we have definitely bonded. I do believe I'm giving her a good life. But honestly, she has done more for me than I have for her. I couldn't seem to get past losing my Golden of 11 years, and wouldn't get out and enjoy the lakes and the neighborhood that I have. Molly has changed all of that!!! Life is good again, and there is much love and much to enjoy. Neighbors love Molly and her tail is constantly wagging as she meets new friends ... she actually grins.

Thanks so much Kathy for taking care of her until God brought her to me. I applaud all the hard work that you and other volunteers do as a part of the Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue. You are really making a difference!!

Molly is a beautiful six year old Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix. She is mostly black with golden shining through and white on her chest and paws.

She is house trained well and will whine at the door when she needs to go out. She is leash trained but uncommonly walks on the right side. She loves people, is gentle with children, and gets along fine with other dogs of all types. She is irritated by, chases, and growls at cats, but has never hurt them.

Molly LOVES to play fetch and will catch a ball on the bounce with ease. She is very fast. She swims extremely well.

Molly likes her crate and being in one has NEVER been used as punishment, so it is a safe place for her.

Molly graduated #1 from her obedience training course. She understands and obeys commands: Sit, Lay Down, Drop (if something is in her mouth), Jump, Walk with me, Go get it/your ball. She likes to play tug-of-war growling playfully. Stuffed dog-toys are a must for her!

Molly travels well in the car usually resting and staying in the same spot. She has never been car sick.

Molly also grins occasionally when she gets excited which is very cute.

Molly has been a family pet since she was a puppy but unfortunately the owners are moving and having a second child and feel that they will not be able to provide the attention to Molly that she deserves. She has been very well cared for (in excellent health) and LOVED and they are only thinking of Molly and what is best for her as surrendering her has been a very, very hard decision.

So if you are looking for an unusual looking Golden Girl with a heart of Gold then you’ve found your Girl!!
