Trisha writes on 5/15/04:
"Dear Jim and Carol,
Thank you so much for our wonderful Nelly. She's been
with us a week and
has almost made friends with our cats. It took the cats about two or
three
days to come up out of the basement and now most of them will walk
by her---but not too close! She follows me around from room to room
always ready for a car ride, a walk or a pat on her head. I took her
to the vet this week and got her started on her heart worm medicine.
The vet also gave me antibiotics to clear up her kennel cough and a
solution to clean and soothe her left ear. Kate and I have started
an evening ritual of walking Nelly after dinner and before Kate's bedtime.
Kate feels pretty special--and grown up--holding the leash. We three
girls talk stop to listen to the spring peepers in the pond across
the street and admire the last of the cherry blossoms. Nelly is so
sweet and gentle. We are very lucky to have her. Thank you for all
the hard work you do and thank you for saving Nelly for us.
