Mac and Daisy
Hi, Jim! This is Jeanne over in Denmark J. I hope all is well with you and Carol and your crew.
I just checked out the GSGRR website and read your beautiful story about Rusty. I must say it made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes. I think you did a wonderful job describing the amazing bond you have with your special boy, Rusty. He really is one of a kind and he’s just as lucky to have you as you are to have him. I feel the same way about my Daisy girl. She is me in a shorter, furrier version ;-) and I can’t imagine life with out her....or my sweet Mac! He was my first Golden and such a challenge…he was almost my last Golden, too! But he and I persevered, then we added Daisy to the family, and we couldn’t be happier. Mac and I still butt heads a lot (he’s such a feisty redhead!), but I love him dearly, and he and my boyfriend are truly two peas in a pod. They idolize each other and it brings me such joy that Mac has finally met his human soul mate. He’s never been happier than he is now. I think Copenhagen is his kind of town. He enjoys barking at the swans in the lake outside our apartment and the bread that people often leave in the park for the birds. I swear he thinks that in Denmark, bread grows under trees!! During the winter when the parks are covered in snow, he walks around with his mouth open scooping up snow, or what he thinks are treats from heaven! Daisy’s not too thrilled with getting her dainty paws snowy and wet, but she loves visiting with all the people and dogs that we encounter during our walks. And she looooooves Bailey, the handsome young Golden who lives in the apartment downstairs. When she sees him, she goes nuts and shakes her “tail feathers” at him! I’ve never seen her like that before, and it is hilarious. Glad to see the old gal’s still got it ;-)
Anyhow, Mac and Daisy wanted to send Rusty an email to say:
Rooo rooo rooooooooooo!!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RUSTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry it’s a month late, but hey, just keep the party going!!! J I’m sure y’all had a fabulous day!! Daisy will have her 8th birthday on September 9th and Mac will turn 7 next week on May 16th. He still acts like he’s 2 and Daisy still acts like she’s human. They bring such joy to our lives, and we have you and Carol to thank for that. So while Rusty was your inspiration to get involved in rescue, know that you and Carol were my inspiration, and I know that your love for Goldens has spread throughout the USA and into the hearts of so many happy Golden families. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving Mac and Daisy and me the chance to find each other J. Keep up the good work!!
Sending y’all lots of hugs!!
