forever home on 8/19/04"
Update on September 27th:
Phoebe is the queen of her castle as you can see from
this photo.
She is just waiting for someone to come up and give her
a belly rub.

Photo as of July 19th,
Here she is swimming in New England at her summer home.

Update on 6/11/2005
Hi Jim,
Just wanted to give you an update on our girl Phoebe. We are now at
our summer place in Massachusetts & she has adjusted to "country
living". We are on a small lake &
she could not be happier with being able to swim everyday. I have taken
her on a few hikes around here & she loves running through the woods,
but always returning in just a few minutes.
However, the other day she decided the 2 deer we came across was just
too much temptation. I have never seen the big girl move so fast, probably
neither have the deer! She was back next to me in about 4 minutes, which
for me seemed like an eternity. She had the biggest grin on her face,
a lot different from chasing the squirrels in the park across from our
house in New Orleans.
Again, we can't thank you enough for allowing this beautiful, loving,
well mannered girl to come into our lives & fill the void we had
after losing our last Golden, Maggie, to cancer.
If I can figure out the new digital camera we will send pictures of
her swimming and hiking. You can just tell by the expressions on her
face she is loving life.

"UPDATE 12/31/04."
Just wanted to give you the latest on our girl Phoebe.
She is just a pleasure to have in our home & we continue to learn
all the things she can do on command. However, she is a bit of a thief
in the kitchen if we aren't watching. Of course we sort of blame ourselves,
thinking we left something to close to the counters edge. She is learning
to walk on a leash and seems to enjoy the outing as she is eager to go
as soon as we say the magic "W" word. She remains on constant
squirrel alert in our back yard. I took her to the vet for a full check
up & discovered she is hypothyroid, may be part of the reason for
her being overweight by 10 pounds. With medication & the right diet
she will do just fine. We are still in the market for a Golden puppy.
We know Phoebe will love playing with a new little sister. She gets along
with other dogs & never gets tired of playing. Again our thanks to
you & the Golden Retriever Rescue Group for bringing this wonderful,
beautiful girl into our lives.

Hi Jim:
I just wanted to give you a Phoebe update & ask about her shot & background.
Phoebe has adjusted to her new home rather quickly. We cannot thank
you enough for allowing us the opportunity to have such a wonderful sweet
dog be part of our family. She loves going for walks & chasing squirrels
in the park across from our house. Of course she has become the lap dog
of the year! All that have met her tell us she is a lucky dog, we feel
like we are the lucky dogs & she is the sweet girl we were hoping
for. Since losing our last Golden after months of chemo we are pleased
to have another loving Golden in our home.
Sincerely,
Charlene (aka Phoebe's Mom)
