Porter

Porter went to live in MA on May
17th, 2008. He is living with a family and a canine sibling.
Update in June 2008:
Hello to All,
I apologize for the delay in giving you an update on Porter.
Porter is doing great in his new home. I believe he knows that
this is it, no more moving around, and certainly no more plane
rides. He has settled in very nicely, and I think he appreciates
having 2 beds to sleep in, one in the bedroom, and one in the
living room. He appreciates the Nutro Holistic Blend Dry Food
mixed with a can of Wellness. He appreciates being Groomed regularly
and having 8 Acres to run free on. YES, he is now spoiled and
deserves it.
Porter has turned out to be the PERFECT Dog for our needs and
Curtis's as well.
Porter had his first Heartworm Treatment 2 weeks ago and the
worms are now starting to die, which is a good sign. Porter
has been a trooper and is getting better by the day. He will
get his second shot in 2 weeks, and he should be OK. The ultrasound
revealed a little swealling of his heart on one side, but not
too bad, which was good to hear. Thus, his case is not severe.
He should recover just fine.
I have attached some pictures for you all to enjoy. Porter before
Grooming, and the New and Improved Porter. And also Porter and
Curtis enjoying their large yard.
Will keep you all posted once he has his second shot.........................
Thank you all again for your help, Porter is wonderful...........................
Sincerely,
Curt

What can you say about the perfect dog? Well…..it is
different for different people. Some people look at a color,
a size, an age, or other physical features. That is a start,
but what you get is a living, trusting creature who wants to
fit into your home and your life. A successful adoption occurs
when people choose a dog that fits their lifestyle.
Porter came to GSGRR with his brother and mother after a serious
accident disrupted his former family. He was sick with an upper
respiratory infection and is heartworm positive. For several
weeks, he has been in foster care and is now healthy except
for his heartworms which are not causing any distress to him
at this time.
Porter is a gentle, loving dog who loves to be by your side,
go for a stroll or just gaze at you while you are going about
your business. He gets along well with other dogs, children,
cats, but he will bark when someone comes to the door. He is
a beautiful, light colored golden with a beautiful gait that
shows confidence and pride. If you think this is the dog that
you would like to share your life with, please fill out an application
and specify “Porter”.
