Ruger (Roux)- adopted updated photo in April 2011
Ruger (Roux) is officially adopted. He went on a 2 week trial. He is now living on a large farm in Alabama. For special treats, he gets to swim in the 40 acre catfish pond that is on the farm. I'm happy for him! Attached is a photo of his new human (Dawn) and canine (Trevor). Another photo is of he and Trevor. From his new momma-- Hey Alicia!
Roux is doing great and has truly found a place in all our hearts! he is as happy as we are with his behavior! We are all here this weekend (my sis and her 2 corgis) and roux has only growled once. He is definitely a keeper! He loves to take off through the hayfield and stir up the birds. There are a couple pics below of him and trever. Please keep in touch and I'll do the same.
Dawn
Roux will be living out side of Selma AL. Name: Ruger (Roux) Gender: Male Age: approximately 5 yrs Neutered: yes Vaccinations: 5/10 Heartworm status: Positive (asymptomatic) Temperament: mild
Ruger and his companion Dallas were turned into a parish animal shelter by their original owner after they repeated were found wandering the area. The animal shelter called us to take these 2 along with 2 other goldens who were there. Ruger is a mellow 5 year old altered male. He is well behaved and has had some training. He is a gentleman in the house and will not climb on the furniture. He is crate trained and will fairly easily enter the crate. He enjoys riding in a car and will lay down for the ride. He generally does well with other dogs. He has been taken to a dog park where he happily wandered around visiting other dogs and people. He will try to get out of the door or gate as soon as it is opened, however; each time he has gotten out while in my care, he has come back when called. Roux was very well behaved with a young toddler. Roux has a very thick and long coat which will require daily brushing. He has a healthy appetite and is a bit overweight. He is 78 lbs and could stand to lose a few lbs. Roux tested positive for heartworms. He is asymptomatic and will be treated with ivermectin and doxycycline.
