This cottony-soft blonde golden mix has known many names -- "Sol", "Chief", and "Roscoe", but what he really wants to be called is "Yours". When Sol came to us from an animal shelter, where his previous owners had left him, he was emaciated and suffering from severe malnutrition. Now, at 45 lbs., he's well on his way to filling out to his full 60-lb. glory. You can help by allowing him access to food at all times and encouraging him to enjoy eating. Happily, mild-mannered Sol has no food aggression issues, so other dogs and humans can be close by at mealtime without fear of a squabble. Sol's a true "indoor-outdoor" dog; he neither rushes inside nor whines when left out. Inappropriate barking won't be a problem, nor will destructive behaviors such as digging, eating, or chewing items that aren't expressly his. He is house broken and crate-trained, and will delight you with a polite verbal greeting when you arrive home. You'll enjoy working with eager-to-learn Sol as he masters standard commands, such as sitting and staying. A big fan of cushy places such as household furniture, one command Sol already knows is, "Get down!". A friend to (and cuddler of) children, Sol also tolerates the presence of cats well. He's adored by his foster family, who hope to help him find a forever home worthy of all the love he has to give.
