Summer went to her forever home updated photos in oct 2010
Summer went to her forever home on February 26, 2010. Update in October 2010: Hi Jeanne,
Summer got into the Halloween spirit early this year..she "retrieved" a pumpkin from the front of our house and ran all around with it. She and Alexis had a blast. Summer was playing keep away with the pumpkin. Even I had a hard time getting her to give it up. I though you would like to see some photos..
Hope all is well,
Valerie
Update from her new family: Hi Jeanne, Name: Summer Age: 2 years Weight: 62 pounds Gender: female Spay/Neuter: Yes Immunizations: 10/09 Heartworm Status: negative Date of Intake: 1/23/10
Summer is a lovely dog, both inside and out. She is stunning, with a medium gold color. She is a medium energy level dog. She is proven good with children. We took her to the LSU Vet School open house this weekend. Hundred of adults and children constantly petted her for over 5 hours, and she was as good as gold. Even towards the end of the day, she nudged people to continue when they stopped giving her attention. She likes other dogs, but is on the defensive until properly introduced. When she plays with other dogs she often doesn't know when to stop, but is getting better with instruction. She will bark at strangers beyond our fence, but either stops after a couple of barks or comes to us when called. Inside she is a relatively quiet dog. Her only bad behavior is picking up household items and chewing. We have started to break that habit using "Bitter Yuck" and positive reinforcement when we find something in her mouth. Summer is crate trained and invisible fence trained. She has only had one accident in two weeks at our home. She loves to be at our feet on on our laps. If you are interested in Summer, please fill out an adoption application and mention her.
