Tramp
Tramp went to his forever home in Western Mass on April 18, 2009. He will join a family with parents and two little girls who already love him so much. Update on Oct 3, 2009: Hi Dick, Tramp is doing very well. He has wiggled his way into our hearts, and my bed at night. He is very happy here and was very sad yesterday to be alone for most of the day. At night he went up and was bugging the kids in bed for some attention. He still just wants to be loved, all the time. We go to dog obedience classes on Thursday nights and he is doing great. Walks well on a leash, does the figure 8’s, sit, stay and many other things. We are currently working on the down, he is strong but getting it. Tramp just loves everybody and wants a scratch and hug. I can’t tell you how happy we are that he joined our family! He still can’t swim, but we are hoping by next pool season he will be less afraid of the water. Now he just hangs out on the stairs while we swim. Someday he’ll get up his courage and come with us. Thank you again for your part in making Tramp and other goldens a good home.
deb Sun, 27 Sep 2009 Hi Dick, Tramp is a good boy! I said I would never have a dog sleep in my bed. . . but tramp changed that!! He graduates from his dog obedience class this Thursday. He is doing great and running circles around the other dogs. Anyhow, hope all is well and you may update the site if you wish. Hi Jeanne,
Just thought I would send a couple pictures of Tramp with the girls. He hangs out by the pool with us and plays on the stairs. Can you believe he can’t swim?!!!!! He fell in and I had to rescue him. The neighbor has a golden and is going to take him up to the lake and teach him howJ
In the next few weeks dog obedience classes will begin. I hope to fit him into the next classes. He is very strong and has almost dismembered me when trying to chase a rabbit or bird. He loves squeaky toys, but they don’t last long. He can usually have them ripped apart in less than an afternoon but he has not chewed up any of our belongings so. . . I keep buying and making squeaky toys for him.
When we go on vacation this month Tramp’s grandparents, my parents, are coming to stay with him. We didn’t want to put him in a kennel incase he thought we were getting rid of him. He gets nervous when we leave and barks like crazy to be taken as well. I am home for the summer as are the girls, so he is getting lots of loving and attention. September will be tough when we all go back to work and school.
Tramp has been a wonderful addition to our family and we thank you and all of the volunteers that take care of the dogs and find them good homes.

Name: Tramp Heartworm tested: 3/4/09
Intake date:3/09 Tramp weighs about 72 lbs, is reddish blonde in color, with lots of feathering on his hind legs and tail. He's house trained, gets along well with his foster's older golden, and is very playful.
He does need a little work on his manners. He'll sit on command, but pulls when on a leash.
He'll also get up on the furniture, and he's nabbed a couple things I've left out, but isn't too bad about chewing.
With a little obedience training, he'll make a really good pet for an active family, and a he'll be a great dog for children.
